FRAME the first Franciscan interactive media center.
Three multimedia rooms that will be screened documentaries on the life of St. Francis, the basilicas, and the friars of Assisi, five multimedia workstations, two giant screens of 10 square meters, three touch screen and a 3D screen where the first documentary will be screened in 3D the life of the Sacred Convent of Assisi. Are the numbers of FRAME, which stands for Franciscan Media, which was inaugurated on 5th October by the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano, in Assisi in the structure - located in front of the Basilica of St. Francis - which already hosts the Press Room of the Sacred Convent.
"The idea of the Franciscan community - developed and manufactured by Capware, a leader in innovative communication of cultural heritage - is to offer the millions of pilgrims who come to Assisi - said the director of the press, father Enzo Fortunato -'' a multimedia media to serve as an introduction to the visit of the Basilica and the works of St. Francis and the Franciscan Friars: the pilgrims will be able to attend and participate together in a variety of multimedia and interactive stories that will make them more aware and involved in the Spirit of Assisi ''.
The digital revolution has landed in Assisi definitively. After the birth of MUMA, the first missionary museum multimedia in Europe, opened by the Capuchin Friars two years ago, it was the turn of the Friars Minor who give life to "Frame", the first Franciscan media library. Will be managed by the religious community of the Sacred Convent of Assisi and set up in front of the Lower Basilica of St. Francis. Today, November 18th, has been blessed and on this occasion has been screened, in 'special room set up for viewing in 3D, the first three-dimensional movie on the life of the friars of the local Franciscan community.
The media also has salt and multimedia workstations that will be seen documentary on the life of St. Francis, on the history of the basilicas, and the convent of the friars of Assisi. Thanks to the touch screen and the screens of ten square meters, you can see the cycle of frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue on the life of St. Francis. Great attention was also given to scholars and experts and 'it can access the archives digitized. Eight centuries of history to them.

It is the experience of the Franciscan friar Alessandro Brustenghi, Order of Friars Minor, 34 years olt, a tenor who won the Decca-Universal and the major recorded the album that will be on shops tomorrow with the title 'Voice from Assisi '. Studios in London friar Alexander brought the message of St. Francis through 11 tracks from the sacred repertoire. The proceeds will go 'to the works of charity' of Friars Minor.

Marcia Francescana, Assisi from July 25 to Aug. 4th, 2012
Assisi (PG) - The second edition of the Marcia Francescana towards Assisi will take place from July 25th to August 4th, offering youngsters aged between 18 and 35 tend days of meditation whilst walking through some of the most magnificent scenery in Umbria. The march retraces the itinerary that St Francis made in 1216 and will culminate in the arrival in Santa Maria degli Angeli for the Festa del Perdono indulgence celebration.
The itinerary traced by the march each year runs along the Biferno basin, from Casacalenda to Guardialfiera, Palata, Guglionesi, Larino, Ururi and Portocannone. Besides walking, it is an appreciation of the atmosphere of spirituality shared by all that is the driving force of the event. Brotherhood and restraint are the leitmotifs of the whole initiative, alongside prayer and the sharing of whatever anyone has brought along with them for the journey.

16th Umbria Film Festival, Montone Pg
The 16th edition of the Umbria Film Festival will be held in Montone from July 11 to 15, 2012.
The festival, under the artistic direction of Vanessa Strizzi and the organization of Marisa Berna, will be preceded by a series of screenings on Giglio Island on July 8 + 9. The films presented will include Apartment in Athens, by Ruggero Dipaola and starring Laura Morante, set in Greece during the Second World War and telling the story of a forced cohabitation. The director will receive the award for the best Italian debut of the year.
This year's guests of honor will be one of the greatest contemporary screenwriters and an acclaimed, Oscar-nominated British actor.
The Italian premieres will include the animated film A Cat in Paris, by Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol, selected as one of the final five nominees for the 2012 Oscar for animation.
This funny film narrates the double life of a cat that spends his days with the daughter of a policewoman and his nights with the good-hearted thief Nico.
As per tradition, the program will comprise a competition for children's animated shorts, a series of short films by Umbrian filmmakers competing in the Umbriametraggi section, and a round table on cinema and immigration.
There will also be two excellent music nights' the opening concert of Spoleto's Opera House "A. Belli", and the closing concert of the Philharmonic Society "Braccio Fortebraccio", that will play music taken from film soundtracks. We look forward to welcoming you all!

55° Festival Dei Due Mondi, Spoleto Pg 29th June to 15th July 2012
From June 29th to July 15th, 2012 the international Festival dei Due Mondi will one more be putting Spoleto on the world cultural map, with a broad array of cultural appointments ranging from classical music to dance, film and science.
Established in 1958 by the late Gian CArlo Menotti, the festival has been crucial to promoting Spoleto as a quality tourist destination over the past decades.

The Wild Flowers Bloom, Castelluccio di Norcia
Every year between the end of June and the beginning of July the uplands of Castelluccio (di Norcia) attract wild flower enthusiasts from all over the world, who come here to admire the magnificent mountain scenery aflame with the thousands of different varieties of wild flowers in bloom.
Although the Festa della Fiorita, celebrating this extraordinary natural event at 1300 metres above sea level, takes place on the second Sunday in June, clearly it is impossible to gauge with precision when the apex of the flowering will take place. Nonetheless, visitors to Norcia and Castelluccio during this time of year will in no way be disappointed if they decide to take one of the many footpaths leading to Monte Vettore or towards the Lago di Pilato (Pilato's Lake).

Gardens + Villas + Castle in Umbria 17 June 15 Sept 2012
A guided tour of villas and gardens, castles and palaces, beautiful and unique places open for the occasion is "Stories of Villas and Gardens", the event organized by the Tourism of the Province of Perugia scheduled from Sunday, June 17 to Saturday, September 15. This year is the eighth edition; in the previous seven involved 65 sites, 13 public and 42 private, one in Tuscany, and has been a growing appreciation of the visitors recording over 5,000 admissions, with a request to participate largely in excess of the 'actual capacity of the visits (possible only with reservation and with limited number).
The program of 2012 offers eleven events:
1. Sunday, June 17 in Perugia with Rufini Palaces, a small village near Corciano.
2. Spoleto June 24 you can visit Palazzo Corvi Zacchei Travaglini, built in the area of old medieval houses '500.
3. Corciano Sunday, July 8 with Villa Pieve, the former residence of 1700.
4. Orvieto, Castle Prodo Saturday, July 14, built in the first half of '300 by the noble family of Prodenzani.
5. Piegaro, Saturday, July 21 with the Abbey of the Seven Brothers, dating from the thirteenth in honor of seven brothers martyred in Rome in 164 AD.
6. Perugia, Villa Colle del Cardinale, Sunday, July 22, built by Cardinal Fulvio della Corgna, probably on the plans of the 1570s.
7. Impossible to miss a visit to Villa Fidelia, Spello, owned by the Province of Perugia, Saturday, July 28, built on the site of a Roman sanctuary.
8. A Monte del Lago, Magione, opens its doors Schnabl Villa Saturday, September 1, built on the walls of the village as a country residence of the family Danzetta Alfani.
9. Sunday, September 2 due to popular demand it is proposed the Castle Castelleone, Deruta, an important artistic and architectural monument dating from the XII-XVI-XIX centuries.
10. The other Forte is the Oscano Castle, Perugia, Sunday, Sept. 9, remained abandoned until the early 1900s until the Austrian family Telfner built the present castle.
11. The journey ends with visits to Palazzo Ranieri di Sorbello, Perugia, Saturday, Sept. 15, an old palace dating from the seventeenth century, the home of Marquis Bourbon di Sorbello.
This edition will be repeated the winning formula of afternoon events focused on summer weekends from June to September, with no admission fee, a limited access, with reservations required.

Bevagna is a small Umbrian town; it’s a charming and picturesque walled town, that was an important place in ancient Roman days, situated along the Via Flaminia. Bevagna is also home to a festival called Mercato delle Gaite.
For a few days each June, the town is time-warped back to the middle ages. If you visit during this time, you’ll find quite a different place than normal! The townspeople are all dressed in medieval garb, and the locals are very much into the spirit of the event. As you wander through the streets, you’ll find all sorts of unusual activities underway, from falconry, to blacksmithing, to paper making. The town is historically divided into four quarters, “Le Gaite”. These neighborhoods compete against each other in different events as part of the festival, and there’s a real rivalry between them.
This year's edition of Bevagna's Mercato delle Gaite, will run from 9th to 15th June. During the Gaite's Market the town returns to the Middle Ages with all its crafts and traditions,. Calendimaggio Assisi 2012 - 3 days long!
The Assisi medioeval festival called Calendimaggio ended yesterday morning,... at 3:30 a.m.!

The Palio of Calendimaggio has returned to Noble Upper Part (of Assisi) that with this result confirms its supremacy in the budget total of 58 editions the Festival (28 wins, 26 losses, 2 ex aequo 2 editions not disputed). Much more success because this year Madonna Primavera (Virgin Spring) title was assigned to the beautiful Upper Part of girls, assigned to Michela Falcinelli, coupled with the winner of archery Fabio Brunelli.
The jury's verdict was not unanimous and this has created some friction between the partaioli (the two Parte's fun). It 's been discontinued domain Reds of the Magnificent Lower Part last three consecutive wins.
The City has confirmed fighting spirit in the heart of the dispute but, all together, has sung the spring festival. There was scenes of great big emotional impact, a parade of costumes worthy of attention, a overall choreography that has enchanted audiences and involved present. The bleachers have registered, as always, the sold out because of any Assisan is allowed to declare "I was not there."
Exciting the music with a choice of intense and engaging songs; appreciated the performance instrumental and vocal considered all in perfect harmony with scenes and processions. A party certainly succeeded for which it has been Ente expressed full satisfaction and always hope that The Calendimaggio could cross the borders of city walls through the inclusion in the UNESCO World "intangible" heritage.ù

During the day later on June 2, will be proclaimed the six most beautiful images that will become the official postcards of the Wood.

Umbria: Water Festival 17-20 May 2012
UMBRIA WATER FESTIVAL 2012 START TO THE WORK FOR THE FESTIVAL WHICH BLESSES UMBRIA AS THE WORLD WATER CAPITAL
In particular, the event aims to bring together the many realities already existing in Umbria, implementing a well-structured programme that, in the four days of the festival, could involve the entire umbrian territory from the well-known areas related to water, such as the Marmore waterfalls, the Trasimeno Lake or watercourses as the Tevere River, and also the less known places as the thermal areas of Città di Castello, Spello, Parrano, Castel Viscardo and Castel Giorgio geothermal and mineral waters.
Just to highlight the importance of water, and its several uses and make Umbria "the world water Capital", the event will be structured in different subject areas, from sport to renewable energies, from mineral water to thermal and healthy area, from meteorology to meetings, from irrigation to spiritual and religious aspects related to water. Moreover the event will provide different activities, some of them spectacular, and planned for the old and the young, for families as for sportsmen, for who is environmentally aware or for the "simple" tourist.
Through this different areas everyone can learn, explore, discover every aspect of the element water.
Therefore, give immediately the green light to Umbria Water Festival 2012, in order to build a rich and complex program, on which for a while, it is appropriate to say ... Acqua in bocca! (Keep it secret! – Mum’s the word!)

The Botero's chalk - Retrospective 1973-2012; March 17th to August 31st, 2012
The exhibition "The Botero's Chalk- Retrospective 1973-2012", which will be 'open in Assisi on March 17th, 2012 will continue for more than five months, until it ended on Aug. 31st. The exposure is promoted by the 'City' of Assisi, with the sponsorship of the Umbria Region and the Province of Perugia, and curated by the International Art and traces the activities' of Colombian sculptor and painter from 1973 to 2012.
Fernando Botero, a contemporary artist currently considered the most 'prized native of Latin America, and known for having introduced the original figurative style called "Boterismo", characterized by figures of men, animals, still lifes and landscapes with exaggerated and unusual volumes yet of great elegance and lightness.
The umbrian exhibition, shows a well-known organization, to be exposed for the first time the plaster sculptures. 76 works are located on 4 floors of the Building called Monte Frumentario, recently restored medieval structure, and include monumental works, such as medium and small size. In addition to gypsum, also 39 drawings, large and medium size. Moreover, in the Town Square in Old Town, 'was placed the "Horse", monumental bronze sculpture created by Master Botero in 1999.
Given the particularity 'exposure (all plaster sculptures have been restored by Botero himself in his studio in Pietrasanta-Umbria) and the eightieth birthday of Mr. Botero, the Master will be' attend the opening.
To complete the catalog published by Art Books International, which contains all the works on display.
The opening to the public is all day long, every day, including holidays (from 10 am to 7 pm).
