The Botero's chalk - Retrospective 1973-2012; March 17th to August 31st, 2012

The exhibition "The Botero's Chalk- Retrospective 1973-2012", which will be 'open in Assisi on March 17th, 2012 will continue for more than five months, until it ended on Aug. 31st. The exposure is promoted by the 'City' of Assisi, with the sponsorship of the Umbria Region and the Province of Perugia, and curated by the International Art and traces the activities' of Colombian sculptor and painter from 1973 to 2012.
Fernando Botero, a contemporary artist currently considered the most 'prized native of Latin America, and known for having introduced the original figurative style called "Boterismo", characterized by figures of men, animals, still lifes and landscapes with exaggerated and unusual
volumes yet of great elegance and lightness.
The umbrian exhibition, shows a well-known organization, to be exposed for the first time the plaster sculptures. 76 works are located on 4 floors of the Building called Monte Frumentario, recently restored medieval structure, and include monumental works, such as medium and small size. In addition to gypsum, also 39 drawings, large and medium size. Moreover, in the Town Square in Old Town, 'was placed the "Horse", monumental bronze sculpture created by Master Botero in 1999.
Given the particularity 'exposure (all plaster sculptures have been restored by Botero himself in his studio in Pietrasanta-Umbria) and the eightieth birthday of Mr. Botero, the Master will be' attend the opening.
To complete the catalog published by Art Books International, which contains all the works on display.
The opening to the public is all day long, every day, including holidays (from 10 am to 7 pm).
