Everything is going according to script for one of the most spectacular events of 2012 edition of the festival "Assisi in the World" directed by opera singer Laura Musella began Friday, April 3 with a wonderful Easter concert broadcast by Rai Uno and held by the Orchestra Maggio Musicale Fiorentino conducted by Zubin Mehta.

The program includes pieces for violin and orchestra which combine descriptive virtuosity and charm, ideal for the floral landscape of the Plain, authentic virtuoso display of nature. Ughi will perform music by Beethoven (Romance in F major), Boccherini (Symphony "The House of the Devil"), Paganini (the initial time of the Concerto No. 4), and then by Massenet, De Sarasate, Saint Saens, Castelnuovo German.
The concert will be filmed by RAI Uno that will be airing on August 4 at 10:30.
The use of location of this beauty is a feature of the festival, which last year had already seen accomplished this "miracle" of music and color. A cultural event, then, as claimed by the organizers, but also "a demonstration of how the project Homage to Umbria is intended to enhance the beauty of the natural heritage of the region."

Bevagna, Gaite's Market, 9th to 24th June 2012

Bevagna is a small Umbrian town; it’s a charming and picturesque walled town, that was an important place in ancient Roman days, situated along the Via Flaminia. Bevagna is also home to a festival called Mercato delle Gaite.

For a few days each June, the town is time-warped back to the middle ages. If you visit during this time, you’ll find quite a different place than normal! The townspeople are all dressed in medieval garb, and the locals are very much into the spirit of the event. As you wander through the streets, you’ll find all sorts of unusual activities underway, from falconry, to blacksmithing, to paper making. The town is historically divided into four quarters, “Le Gaite”. These neighborhoods compete against each other in different events as part of the festival, and there’s a real rivalry between them.

This year's edition of Bevagna's Mercato delle Gaite, will run from 9th to 15th June. During the Gaite's Market the town returns to the Middle Ages with all its crafts and traditions,. Every night the taverns will be open serving Medieval recipes, as a welcome respite after the countless cultural and historical activities scheduled.
